Will cold temperatures damage a pc or crt?

I want to leave 2 computers with crt monitors in an unheated
storage space in new england over the winter. will this damage
the pc's or monitors? Also will freezing damage CD'-roms or DVD's?

Maybe another hardware group might know better. It has to do with
minimum storage temperatures of components. I suspect that's usually
below zero but there are very many components inside a computer and
monitor. The monitor manufacturer might list that. If not, maybe you
could look at other monitor specifications to get an idea.

Others might have much better answers.
 
it is more probable than not it would suffer some type of
moisture-condensation damage,
if computers were meant to be stored in the cold they would have a
message attached like, refrigerate after using.

they will collect condinsation, this should not be a problem unless you
power it up @ these temps. when you take them out let them sit for a few
days an you should be ok.

How cold will it get? What will the humidity be?

The main danger is condensation of moisture and/or freezing thereof.
Even then, you may get away with it if you give the equipment plenty
of time to warm up and dry out before restarting it. Mechanical parts
are the most vulnerable (fans and disk drives).
