wildcards junk mail

Is is possible to use wildcards for setting up junk mail? I've been getting
a lot of email that uses the same name (display name) but has all different
domain names. I'd like to set up a filter for the display name instead of
the domain addy. I know that I can set up a rule to move the mail, but even
that wants to use the domain info instead of just the display name.

Thanks in advance...

Outlook doesn't support wildcards, most real junk filters do.

If the display name is the same, create a rule - but note that this is the
worst way to filter junk out, as it only works until they change names. A
real junk filter is better. If you have Outlook 2003, the high setting
should get enough of the spam that you won't need a real filter.

Thanks Diane.

I use Norton Anti-Spam with Outlook and these spam-jerks get through that
too. When I increase the junkmail settings to high, too much of my real mail
gets caught because I have real mail coming from LOTS of sources. (I'm an
instructor and my students questions often get caught up into the high
filters -- can't have that.)

I guess I'm kinda stuck since these spammers seem to have an unlimited
numberof domains that they send from. For reference, and hopefully to help
spam blockers, the "from" is dlysvrs@**********. I did set try to set up a
rule, but it uses the e-mail addy instead of just the display name. Guess
I'll just have to keep deleting for a while.

Add the students addresses to the safe list. I'm not familiar with NAS, but
certainly it supports safe list and importing lists - Outlook 2003 does.

In addition to what Diane said, you may want to give SpamBayes a try. It is
free and works wonderfully after a little training.
