Hi,

I installed a wifi router last week and since then have been sitting here in
the living room with a laptop sitting on top of my lap.

It gets warm, ya know, and it just occurred to me, it's getting warm around
some sensitive body parts.

The wifi card is about 8 inches away from the family jewels. Do I have to
worry about radiation?

Thanks,

aArt

You should turn the TV, radio, microwave, and the electricity off just to be on the safe side when using the laptop.

The consensus is that the radiation hazard from a WiFi laptop is
trivial.

WiFi devices are clearly less of a hazard than cellphones, since
cellphones are held very close to the brain.

aArt,

don't mix it up with radioactivity. WiFi radiation is something
very different.

If it does anything to you, it will minimally warm you up. This
is used for some kinds of medical treatment, by the way.

If, however, you observe that every morning, after letting the
WiFi transmitter run overnight, you have to clear corpses from
your sidewalk, then it's probably time to worry. :-)
