I use my neighbors internet to connect from time to time (I have 15
different ones I can jump onto) What is the best way to protect myself
while on an unsecured network (most of the people that live around me
are over 65 but I just weant to be careful) any thoughts?

I am currently using windows firewall, avg anti-viurs and a passworded
login, and I am not sharing anything

There are security options built into most wireless routers. These include
WPA and WEP for security. Also, some routers will control access to
pre-defined computers - enable this to increase your security.

You can upgrade your system to a software firewall that also monitors
outgoing traffic. Some free one's are Sygate, Zone Alarm, Kerio, Outpost.

I'd also suggest and antispyware application - I like the Windows Defender
Beta.
