Widows XP shutdown problem

I installed Win xp no problems except when I try to tun off my
computer Windows does its thing and finally says you may shut off
computer now.Problem is I cant the power button on the front of my
case does nothing.I can hit the reset button and it will boot up
again.I have to switch the power button on the power supply on the
back of the computer off.I did not have this problem with Win 98
