I have Vista, I shut the laptop lid down once, reopen and find that my entire
display is widened. The windows, the fonts, the desktop icons, they're all
stretched. Tried restarting the computer and tried readjusting Control Panel
options. Any suggestions?

Thanks much,

C

When you say you "tried readjusting Control Panel options", do you
mean you reset the screen resolution? If not, give that a try. You
don't have to go to the control panel to do that, either. Just do a
context click(right click) on an unoccupied place on your desktop and
select properties.

Hope this helps.

I figured it out. Thanks for your help!

i am having the same problem, but the none of the resolutions are better...i
don't know what else to do...i can't figure it out...

HOW DID YOU FIGURE IT OUT, HOW DID YOU FIX THE PROBLEM? I AM HAVING THE SAME
PROBLEM!!

THANKS!

If a display seems widened or stretched horizontally it is possible that
the resolution is set incorrectly.

Right-click the desktop and click on PERSONALIZE. Click the DISPLAY item.

Adjust the resolution to match the native resolution of your monitor.
See monitor documentation for that information.

The resolution is fine...this seems to be a Vista problem. It happened when
I partially closed my laptop and then opened it up; the screen flashed and
then everything was stretched. It is very annoying and I cannot fix it!!!!
