Wide taskbar with 2 monitors

I now have two monitors and they are setup to act as one double wide one. I
would like to have the taskbar spread across both monitors also so that the
system tray and quick launch menu are at the far right of the right monitor
and (not sure of the proper name for these) the shrunken windows for each
actual window start at the left side of the left monitor and spread rightward
across both monitors.

Can someone tell me how to do this?

ATI cards without Hydrovision always put taskbar &
desktop on default monitor in extended mode.

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

Try ultramon

I have 2 monitors and find this extremly useful. not only does it stretch
the taskbar but does other stuff as well. Stretch wallpaper, allow 2 seperate
wallpapers on the 2 seperate screens, gives you an extra button next to
minimize + maximise which just chucks the program to the other screen (quite
useful if you maximise something and need to move it across) plus more

Luke, thanks much for your help. I'm using UltraMon now and it is great! I
haven't yet figured out how to get the system tray over to the other monitor
yet but I'm working on it.

I don't think you can put the system tray on the far right, but if you can,
let me know! I tried to get it over to the right but failed. Glad I can be of
some help

Luke,

I was able to get the System Tray on the right monitor. I went to the
UltraMon message board and talked with the programmer
(http://www.realtimesoft.com/multimon/forum/messages.asp?tmpl=&Topic=6273#21106).
Actually the taskbar with the system tray is called the windows taskbar and
the other one is called the UltraMon taskbar.

I succeeded in getting the taskbars swapped! I was able to unlock the
windows taskbar and drag it to the right monitor. Then I had the UltraMon
taskbar on top of it. Then I right clicked the UltraMon taskbar and was able
to select Add Taskbar for Monitor 1 and had three taskbars. Finally I right
clicked the extra UltraMon taskbar on Monitor 2 and closed it. That's all it
took.
