Check the manual for your monitor.

Also, wide screens don't necessarily just stretch things sideways. You can
get a stretched effect on any kind of monitor, including square CRTs, if
adjusted incorrectly.

The monitor did not come with a manual. Just a fold out set up sheet.

You may be able to find one online at the manufacturer's site. Get the
model and serial number, and this will help.

Set the windows resolution to the native monitor resolution.

If everything is too small to read, you can increase the DPI to... maybe 120
dpi.

You need to set your video card resolution (Control Panel - Display -
Settings) to one that is compatible with your wide screen monitor.

This will probably be a 16:10 ratio setting or maybe 16:9 ratio rather
than the regular 4:3 ratio.

Examples of 16:10 resolution settings would be 1680 x 1050, 1440 x
900, and 1280 x 800.

What is the make and model of your monitor?

Good luck
