Why Word 2003 is becoming slower?

I’m writing my thesis using MS Word 2003 and it is getting larger and larger
(188 pages) evryday. However, Word is becoming slower? any suggestions ?

Page numbers means nothing, Hindo. What about electronic size? See if any of

Actually the file is 11.1 MB; it has some tables & screenshots. how can I
solve the speed problem ?!

~11 MB is nothing. I have seen bigger documents.

Have you tried the articles Anne provided? What was the result?
