Just got XP and have http://news.bbc.co.uk/ as my home page. however in this
version there is a strip of white down the right of the page which takes
roughly a quarter of the screen. It didn't appear like this in Windows 98.
How can I change it? The page that shows is perfectly readable.

I'm guessing that before you ran at 800x600 screen resolution and now
run at 1024x728. Many websites limit themselves to 800x600 displays
regardless of your screen dimensions. The Beeb is one of them. MSN is
the same - but it hides it a little by centering everything in your
browser so there are two smaller but equal margins.

You had a different screen resolution when you were using win98 than
what you are using now with windows xp.
