Why won't the computer connect to a new broadband connection.

The laptop detects that the ethernet cord is connected and that the
connection is fine, but will not connect to the Internet. This is the second
broadband connection on this computer--I usually connect through a wireless
connection. I can not even connect to another wireless network. What settings
do I have to adjust on the computer?
 
Can you ping the router? What's the computer IP address. Posting the result of ipconfig /all here may help.

My IP Address while connected directly to the ethernet cord is 169.254.67.88,
but when I connect through the wireless connection it is 192.168.1.2. What
can I do to fix this problem?
 
The problem is the IP 169.254.67.88. make sure it has the good connection.
