why won't my favorites condense?

I reloaded my system 3 months ago and my favorites listing (in internet
explorer) has not yet condensed to recently used ones. I am guessing that I
have stopped a program running that does this.
Can anyone help please?

Are you running Internet Explorer version 6?
 
Just worked out that I have to have a tick in
"Enable Personalized Favorites "
Now, another 7 days or so before they condense :-(

Tools | Internet Options | Advanced
Check the box to use personalized favorites menu.
