This problem occurs intermittently.

The last time I encountered this issue, the person reported
back that the cause was a third-party, management software
installed on the system. If you boot Windows in Safe Mode,
does the problem go away?

I just want to add that I am having the same problem in Word 2003 i
Windows XP Pro. PDFWriter is my only Word add-in. I haven't trie
Word in safe mode, and in fact don't really plan on fixing thi
problem because I don't mind just deleting the bookmarks manually.
