Because it is a P2P network, and you are sharing your files with other
people, as well as downloading from them. I don`t use BitLord, but you
should be able to see what is being uploaded from your computer.
best wishes..OJ

Thank for the reply OJ. I have not shared anything on my machine. Does
it mean it is picking up what it wants to give out. Or is it just
redistributing what I am in the process of downloading. Thing is so far
nothing has been downloaded as yet.

Any recommendations on use of some other tool and how to monitor what
is being uploaded.
Thanks,
RS

this is the power of a bittorrent network...you are sharing the item you're
downlading....more users downloads...more bandwidth is shared...faster is
the speed!!

Most torrent sites will prevent you from downloading at some point if
you are not also giving backin some way. There are several good
programs. I'm using bitcomet currently. Many people like azareus. I
tried many until I found one I liked.
On many, including bitcomet and the one you are using show who is
connected to your computer and whether they are uploading or downloading.
If you check out the bitlord site, you will see that bitlord has that
capacity. There is a picture of that info on this page from that site:

The following 2 sites have much info on bittorrents.
