Why unable to find pst files in search?

I was rebuilding a hard drive today, and remembered once again that one
can't simply search for *.pst and find the files. Is there some setting
prohibiting this? Is there a way to turn it off?

when searching, enable the advanced option to search for hidden files and
folders and system files. in windows explorer, tools, options, view, enable
the options to show hidden files and folders and system files. Showing file
extensions for registered types is a good idea as well.

Thanks, I hadn't scrolled down far enough. I already have folders set to
show hidden and system, and wondered why a search couldn't get it.
