Why my menu items are not showing the underscore (hot key)?

I put "&" in front of the letter that I want underscored but why it doesn't
show up at run time? It's showing up at the design window though.

Laughs... They're there alright... In WinXP the ALT combinations aren't displayed until the time you press ALT.

Try pressing ALT and see if they show up.

You can do anything with a little bit of 'magination

If you open the "Word" program, you'll see that the short cut letters are all
displayed with the underscore without one has to press to the ALT key. This
is what I like to have for my program. Anywa to accoplish this? Thanks.

I believe this is a user setting in Control Panel -- whether to display the
underlines all the time or just when Alt is held down.

I currently have mine set the second way. The effect is interesting -- Alt
then becomes "sticky" and you can hit Alt and *then* S rather than Alt plus
S.

I think this has caused me some errors and I'm going to unset it now.
Thanks for calling my attention to a source of keyboard accidents.

Actually, Alt is always "sticky."

Accessing Windows HELP I found the answer.

<sarcasm> But for those of you without help installed on your operating
system ... </sarcasm>

Control Panel -> Display -> Appearance -> Effects
