I need to figure out where the executable is that is associated with a
particular start menu shortcut. Why, when I go to look at the shortcut's
properties, is there no Find Target? How am I supposed to find where the
program is located?

Bob

That information is *not* displayed in the properties, hence my post.

Bob

By looking in the properties.

It's in the Target box and there a Find Target button that opens explorer and selects it. At least for Windows Shortcuts to file objects. If this is office then they aren't windows shortcuts and they link to Windows Installer which starts the application.

No, the location is NOT in the target box, which contains only the
application name, and the Find Target button is disabled.

This link is not to an office or installer application.
