Why is my default email address not being used for sent mail?

My email host just recently changed servers causing me to need to redo all my
outlook email settings. Somehow in the aftermath of those changes (related or
not, I cannot say) my outlook 2003 program has gone rogue, sending all my
emails as one of my email addresses (I have several and different email hosts
as well) that I do not want to use and have not set as default.

I have checked the following:

1) The default email address is not set to the one being used. Changing
which of my several emails is default does not change the constant use of the
offending address.

2) I have assigned a different signature to each email addresses to track
which profile is loaded. The correct 'default' email addresses' signature is
used, but not the email account information.

3) In 'send and receive groups', the 'send' button is not checed for the
offending email account. The send button is checked for the default account.

4) Changing 'accounts' in the email form itself makes no difference either.
The offending email account is still used.

One other possible datapoint: the offending email address is the one given
to me by my ISP. Is it possible they are rerouting my email transmissions to
their server?

Please help, this is just too strange and irritating!

Thanks in advance,

Craig

So I ultimately called MS tech support. Turns out some table deep w/in
Outlook was corrupted. The solution was to create a brand new Outlook
profile, re-enter my email account info and upload my old pst and rules
files. Not too painful and all is back as it should be. Two bits of info that
might be of use to others: Outlook doesn't like having more than four email
accounts in one profile and the limit on pst file size is ~ 2 gb.

All the best,

Craig

I've had more.

Not for Outlook 2003, which is what you said you're using in your original
post.
