Why is my clip art replaced with a Real Player icon?

Every time I go to add clip art to my PowerPoint presentations, the clip art
icons disappear and Real Player icons are in there place. So, I can't see
what I'm choosing until I insert it into the presentation!

Is this only for audio or video files, or does it happen with images too? If
the former, then you probably have Real Player installed on your system and when
installing it you allowed it to be the default player for all media types. For
many other reasons I would recommend that you uninstall Real Player because it
doesn't play nicely with PowerPoint. But uninstalling it *should* reset your
file associations and then you'll probably get the Windows Media Player icon,
which you might not like any better,
