I have just tried to update my Windows XP Home following the recent
scare and the updates announced in the press, but all I get is a refusal
of the updates saying that they have not been certified by Microsoft XP
(or something similar)

I the get the following message after installation: (I have tries
reinstalling them several times)

The following items failed to install. To try installing them again,
click Review and install updates, and then click Install Now again.

Critical Update for Windows (KB833407)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB828028)
Security Update for Microsoft Windows XP (KB828035)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB810217)
Update for Microsoft Windows XP (KB826942

What is going wrong? Am I getting through to a rogue site?

Al;
I've had a bit of a connection problem myself this morning, which is very
much out of the ordinary. I'm still not able to connect with a couple of my
regularly visited sites, but both are on the same server.
Even had a problem connecting with the Microsoft update site this morning ,
but was successful in doing so after a couple of hours and received the
latest critical update.( kb828028)
