Can someone tell me why the Local Disk D: is now shown in blue text on
my Windows Explorer display? All the other disks are shown in black text.

Hi: This is because your partitioh is formatted in NTFS and you activated,
the option "Compress drive to save disk space".

Hope it helps

They are blue for one of 2 reasons. They are either compressed or
encrypted.

Most likely compressed.

If you want to remove compression...

Right click Local Disk D: | Properties |
General tab | UNCheck: Compress drive to save disk space

Compress drive to save disk space
[[Specifies that this NTFS drive be compressed. By default, only files in
the root directory are compressed automatically. To have Windows compress
all folders on this drive, select the Also compress subfolders check box in
the message that appears.]]
