I don't know when and why this folder appears on my desktop. Virus Scan
didn't show that I'm infected. Could this be a trojan?

Hi

If you type

%systemdrive%

into Start/Run you will see the contents of the C drive - or where ever you
installed Windows. You have not got a Trojan.

What happens when you open this folder?
Is it opening the contents of your C: drive or it is again opening the same
name folder("%SystemDrive%")?
In the first, it may be the result of some malfunctioning of any program, in
the second case, it's a virus.

Thank you! But what brings this folder on my desktop? I'm the only user of my
computers at home. And my other computers using Windows2000 and xp home never
have such a problem. This really makes me nervous. Please let me know why!

A recent install probably wrote a Run command to the registry
incorrectly, possibly with text extending beyond the path, or some other
extraneous syntax. It might have just dropped the executable, so
Windows thinks it should open the folder rather than a program. If you
remember installing software before the last reboot, try removing, then
reinstalling that software.

Otherwise, you may need to look in the registry, or the msconfig Startup
tab for an entry that references that folder, but no executable. Look
at the path to find out where the folder is referenced, run regedit, go
to that folder and delete that entry.

If you have any questions, ask before messing with the registry.
