Why install XP Pro over XP Home?

Recently bought Dell 4600 with XP Home installed.
Received XP Pro update for Christmas. After reading only
three pages of comments listed on this discussion page, I
wonder why I should even try to install this product??
If there are so many documented problems associated with
this upgrade, why should I even bother?? I am looking
for some sound advice from an experienced pro.
Thanks you.
Tom

With Pro., you get Internet Information Server (IIS) - Home has no web
server and IIS can't be installed into it.

With Pro., you can join a domain - Home can only do Workstation networking.

I can't speak about the upgrade process, but if you were making the decision
from scratch, I'd say pony up the 99 bucks and get Pro.

You may be basing your judgment after looking at a forum people come
to solve problems.
The majority have no problems at all.

However since the performance and stability for Home and Pro are
identical, many do not need Pr:

Using the above link can help you decide which you need.
If you don't need Pro, wait until you have reason or need to reinstall
Windows and go for it at that time.

Why what? I haven't done upgrades (only fresh installs from the full
version CD [not upgrade]) and so I only said that Pro. is worth the $99 more
than Home.

I have upgraded dozens of Dell and HP computers running
XP Home to XP Pro without incident. What is your
specific question?

Sorry Scott, I misread what you said.
Still Pro does not add anything worth the extra $ to most home users.

Why?
Since the upgrade is fully capable of performing a Clean Installation
with no difference from a full version.
The only difference is during installation where the qualifying CD for
an upgrade must be inserted for a few minutes.
