I'm concerned that Micro$oft have deemed IE7 to be a high Priority Update.
Why is this???. I personally don't want to install - have tried it but
prefer IE6 - but also Idon't want to keep being reminded that if I hide it,
that I have high priority updates outstanding. Can it not be placed as
Optional as surely that is what it should be????

Aysush,

Many thanks for this information. Done and dusted.

All I can say is that it's overkill and Microsoft are suffering from
validation paranioa or staff have nothing better to do. After validating,
downloading toolkit, running script, saying don't install where does the
update end up..........an optional update ! Why didn't they put it there in
the first place

We have or get validation requirements sometimes before we can download,
sometime before we install, sometimes during install, the only thing left now
is un-install !!

Micros~1 evidently feels (and I agree) that it is in the best interest of
ALL internet users for ALL internet users to be using a more secure browser
(and one that won't cause your cat to develop warts).

HetBub,

I agree with the sentiments for users to be safe in the knowledge that they
are using a secure browser. Perhaps Micro$oft should recommend that they use
Firefox 2.0. instead. It's my default browser but I'll stick with IE6 for
updates etc.
