I have a number of Adobe fonts that appear in my font file in My Documents,
but they don't show up in my font list in Word 2003. No clue why or how to
get them there. Thanks for the help.

Hi Brent,

Here's one possibility: In the Windows Control Panel, double-click Fonts.
Select Tools > Folder Options and click the TrueType Fonts tab. If the
checkbox for "Show only TrueType fonts in the programs on my computer" is
checked, clear it.

Thanks for the suggestion, Jay. The box was already clear. I think the
problem is the printer--it's a simple ink jet unit and I expect it just can't
see PostScript fonts. I'm going to research it further, but I wannt you to
know I appreciate the help.

Some early HP DeskJets were "Windows printers" that could handle only
TrueType fonts. An example was the DJ 820C.
