Word’s /s switch in an INDEX field doesn’t appear to work the same way as it does in a TOC field.
Does anyone know what might be stopping the /s (and /d) switch from prefixing the page numbers in the index
Some background:
I’ve got a document with sections numbered using a sequence field (e.g. {SEQ PGSECT \R 23}
I use a {SEQ PGSECT \C } field to reference that section number in footers and other places. OK so far
For the TOC the \s switch produces page numbers with a section number prefix as you would expect (e.g. {TOC \S PGSECT}). OK so far
However, the INDEX field and the TOA field both do not prefix their page numbers with the section numbers, as you would expect from the field descriptions in the Word help. (e.g. {INDEX \C 2 \S PGSECT \D "-"} doesn't include 23- in the page numbers)
Can anyone suggest a fix?
I’m using Word 2000 (9.0 with SR-1)
I really don’t want to use page numbers from chapter headings for numbering stability reasons.
