Why does the front-end bloat

Hi all,

I have a db with a front-end about 6,2 MBytes when compacted.

I open the front-end, do few operations and the front-end bloats to 9-30
Mbytes.

Why would the front-end bloat without adding any queries, forms,
reports, etc. etc?

Do you have any temp tables, or large action queries? I've sometimes
seen this phenomenon too, and haven't been able to track down the
cause!

Now is this you doing some changes to objects? If so this is quite
typical. By the end of the day a 6 Mb MDB can bloat to 30 Mb.

front end bloats because MDB is a piece of shit app that is obsolete.

Access Data Projects never bloat.

Then it must be that.

That will bloat the database by at *least* the size of the table,
often much more. The space will not be recovered when the table is
emptied or deleted (unless you compact of course).
