Why does screen saver stop running?

I've checked my msconfig to make certain there are no programs running in
the background but my screen saver will usually stop after a certain amount
of time. In addition, it does not always restart.

Suggestions please.

On the screen saver tab of the display properties dialog box, click on the
power button. My guess is that maybe your monitor is set to turn off after a
certain amount of time, or else your whole system is set to hibernate after a
certain amount of time.
