Why does Outlook2003 use gmail & not my default acct to send mail.

I set up gmail on Outlook 2003, and now almost all of my outgoing mail is
sent by gmail rather than through my default account? How can I get Outlook
2003 to send with my default account?

WHat type of account is your default account? If you click Tools>E-mail
Accounts>Next and examine the account list, is the default account marked
"(Default)"?

is new mail or replies going through gmail? outlook replies through the
account that downloaded the messages.

Do you the latest updates for 2003? there was a bug that if a server wasn't
available it uses the next available account. It was fixed in a recent
service pack.
