My outlook 2003 is sending/receiving 100s of the same few mails even though I

Help

Depending on what is doing the mail scan, just turning it off may not
really do anything. You may need to uninstall the antivirus scanner,
reboot the computer, then reinstall the anitvirus program without the email
scanning options.

I'll, of course, try this, but what about all the mail viruses that will not
be caught by Macaffee with the filter turned off? Maybe I should find one of
their discussion groups?

Email scanning provides no protection that you do not already have just by
using real time virus scanning. It is unnecessary.

I have reinstalled mcafee without email scanning. does this take any time to
punch in and work. We are still getting older mails regenerated or resent
quickly filling up our quota on the server. Thanks

You'll need to purge/delete older emails from the server.
try doing so with this application:

Magic Mail Monitor:

http://mmm3.sourceforge.net/

(assuming POP3 account).
