Why does Outlook close Word every time I send an email?

Every time I send an email, whether it's a new one or a reply, once I "click"
send my Word program closes. I keep Outlook and Word open all throughout the
day because I'm in and out of both all day and it's aggravating that I have
to re-open Word everytime I send an email. Can someone please help me with
this? Thanks!

Verion of Word/Outlook? What is logged to the Event Viewer? Is Word set as
the e-mail editor?

Tips of the month:
-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data
-Creating a Permanent New Mail Desktop Alert in Outlook 2003

Roady: Thanks for replying. The version of Word/Outlook is Office 2003.
I'm not sure what you mean by the Event Viewer. Yes, Word is set as the
e-mail editor.

The Event Viewer says "unspecified"

I'm really sorry but what do you mean "applied office 2003 SP1 already?" I
have auto updates activated and update whenver told they're available.

Auto update only updates Windows - not Office (AFAIK). In any Office app
click "Help-About" and it will tell you whether you have any service
packs installed.
