When I open a sheet that cointais external link values,
I see a lot of '#REF? errors. So, I need to open
the referenced files as well. This is not the default
behaviour, because Execel normaly saves a copy of the
"last seen" external values

How can I get the sheet to save external link values
internally?

Got it. These external links are not constants, but
computed links. Any way to get Exel to save the values
anyway?

Hi xirx

Normally when a workbook contains external links it prompts you for
updating external links. If you choose to update them and do not have
access to those files then you get the REF error. This is a typical
problem when you are using a file sent by someone and this file has
some links to which you do not have access.

If you want to see the values click do not update external links. with
this you will not be able to get the latest reference values but will
get those values which existed when these links were still
"updateable".

Look at:
<Tools> <Options> <Calculation> tab,
And make sure that,
"Save External Link Values" *IS* checked.
