Why do I have to restart Oulook everytime I want an email sent?

I recently set up Gmail through my Outlook and it worked fine. Now it won't
automatically send my outgoing mail. I have to close out my Outlook, and
open it up again to send it. Anyone know why?

Not without lots more info like version of Outlook, error messages etc...

Tips of the month:
-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data
-Creating a Permanent New Mail Desktop Alert in Outlook 2003

I'm using Office 2003 v11. When I create an email and send it, it'll go to
my outbox and stay there. There isn't really an error message, but the
status report will say it's trying to send 2 messages, the email won't go,
then I would get one of the following errors:

Task 'Kara Ziegenfuss - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC7D) : 'Your
outgoing (SMTP) server does not support SSL-secured connections. If
SSL-secured connections have worked in the past, contact your server
administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Task '(e-mail address removed) - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The
connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact
your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server
responded: 421 4.4.5 Try again later, closing connection.'

I have deleted and recreated the email account. The email WILL send after I
close out Outlook and open it back up again. I've run spybot, done a fix and
repair on outlook, windows updates, virus scan, deleted cache and cookies,
and defrag.

Hope you can help Roady and thanks!
Kara

Hi Kara,

Error 4.4.5 means "Insufficient disk space" on the server (not your
mailbox). You could contact your ISP to check the server.

Robert, in Kara's case, and mine as well, we are talking about Google
running the POP server, not an ISP. I don't know about Kara, but I
know I am having the same problem as her (without that error message,
but the symptoms are the same) and I know I've got plenty of space
left on my Gmail account. Are there any other possibilities?

thanks,

The space this error refers to isn't your mailbox space but the space left
on the system disks of the server.

Google can probably provide you with some additional info on this especially
you both mention happening this with GMail accounts.

Robert & Cameron,

I do appreciate the help. I have uninstalled Outlook and then reinstalled
it, and things seem to be going well. I don't think I conveyed my problem
well enough, because I firmly believed it was a problem with my Outlook, and
a fix and repair just wasn't cutting it. Anyway, thanks again, and good luck
Cameron!
