I have this same problem. And I have hit that symbol in my toolbar and it
still hasn't removed them?..What else can I do to get rid of them as they
appear in all my documents and when I print?..

If you really don't want to use them (some of us can't work without them),
hit the ¶ button in your toolbar.

As "nonprinting characters" they should certainly not print, but if they
don't disappear when you click the Show/Hide ¶ button, then, as explained in
the referenced article, it's because the box for "Paragraph marks" is
checked on the View tab of Tools | Options or the corresponding location in
Word 2007.

Do you know where "the box for "Paragraph marks" is
checked on the View tab of Tools | Options or the corresponding location in
Word 2007" is located?..I can't find it anywhere?

Office button, click Word Options, and then click the Display option at the
left of the dialog box. Select everything.

If you had looked at the referenced article
(http://word.mvps.org/FAQS/Formatting/NonPrintChars.htm), you would not have
to ask, as this is clearly spelled out.
