why database read only over wireless network

I am trying to work on an access database that site on one pc on a home
wireless network from another pc on the same network. I have shared the
database but for some reason it is only available as read only! really
puzzled.
 
Conventional wisdom is that Access does NOT work well over a wireless
network. Strange things happen. You might want to reconsider the setup.

Someone might have the database open exclusively or modifying the database
structure. This could lock you out.

Make sure at all users have full privileges to the folder holding the
database. At the minimum read, write, create, and delete privs.

What is the read only property of the file and the directory as views
over the network?
 
likely, the reason is that you did not share the folder with full rights.
Each user needs full rights to the folder. (try un-sharing, and re-share the
folder..since the default is read only).

As others mentioned, you do risk damage to the file when using a wireless
network. I don't just tell you that this is a problem, but I explain in
