I have been trying to send a resume to someone who tells
the ycannot open it because it was Corel creaeted it . I
did it through Word Perfec task manager. I later insalled
MS through an upgrade of the internet explorer. Will this
help? How can I be sure I can create this document and
send it so that it can be read. My computer uses Windows
XP. As you can tell I'm a rather novice user and I
deperatley need help fast. Please help.Thank you

What Program (word processing) is the other person using? It really has
nothing to do with the OS but more to do with the app being used to open it.
You may also want to save it as a .TXT or other compatable file format.

I don't have Word Perfect so this advice may be useless.

Open your document. What you want to do now is to save in a format that is
more widely readable than Word Perfect (.wp).

Somewhere you will have a "save document" function (probably under File on
the top line) What you want is "Save As" instead of save (or some similar
sounding feature). That should allow you to save as some more useful format
from a list. If some format pretending to be a Microsoft Word version is
available, try that. There may also be a format called Rich Text Format
(*.rtf) that is also usually pretty well available.
pick the format and save, send this to your contact. Note that some fancy
festures may not come out like you hoped due to the conversion!
