Why can't I see Date:today in Inbox but I can see it in Sent mess

Starting today, I can't see my messages split up into catagories such as
Date:today and Date:yesterday (INBOX problem). In the rest of the folders
such as sent items I can view everything fine. There are no filters running.
Can anyone tell me how to fix the problem.
