I have installed all the pps programs on my computer but I still can not open
a pps file when it is emailed to me. Why?

I get a red circle with a X in the middle - "This file does not have a
program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association
in the Folder Options Control panel."
I have every pps program installed on my laptop (2005 Toshiba). I have to
save the attachment to my documents then right click to use pps program to
open and run the file. This is a little unorthadox and would like to able to
just open the attachment in my email and view it.

I don't know what you mean with "every pps program"; it is either
PowerPoint, or PowerPoint Viewer. If you have one of these installed,
follow the instruction you get "Create an association in the Folder
Options Control panel."

What happens when you try to open thePowerPointPresentation?

To view a pps attachment, you should have PowerPoint or PowerPoint
viewer.
And you can not view this pps file directly in a mail. You have to
save it on your local drive and then
view it.
