I want to export my addressbook or "contacts" to a file but the choices for
"IMport or Export" are GREYED OUT. Why is this and how can I fix it?

I have Microsoft Office XP Standard

The address book is simply a view of your Contacts Folder.
You'll find your import and export options there.

Thanks, but ......
When I try to "export" with the contacts window open I choose a cvs (dos)
file format and then get an error message stating the import/export engine is
not installed, load a CD "Outlook 2000". I don't have such a CD as my Office
programs were installed from Office XP CD and this one doesn't work in this
case.

Any work around?

No. You must use the original Office installation files to add features.
