why can't I close an app with "X"??

when I click the X the program won't close.
I must close it with the Task Manager.
Seems to be just one program (ACT!).

What might cause this??

Bad programming. It's not the first time I've encountered a program
where someone disabled the X. Contact the folks who wrote it. Maybe
there's a fix already.

Maybe so and maybe not. It all depends on what needs to be
updated when the application closes, especially something
like ACT!, that encompasses several separate programs.

Well it has been working. Just started this and I don't know what I
might have done to cause it. It works fine on the other two systems.

The button changes when clicked, but nothing else appears to happen.
It doesn't seem to want to close anything
