Why can I not print preview under Word?

I have word installed on 2 computers. My daughter I using it alot for school.
She has went to view/toolbars/drawing. Now that she got there she had gone
into auto shapes and done an exercise. Then she went to print preview and
nothing was there. I done the same thing on my computer all was ok and
printed ok too. So what could be the problem? Thanks
 
Is there a printer installed on her computer? If not, install one. It
needn't be physically attached to the computer -- use port FILE:. Word can't
generate a print preview unless it knows what printer it's previewing for,
 
yes there is a printer in fact 3 and they all did the same . The fiirst
answer took care of the problem for now. Thanks
