Why are sorting / filtering features disable?

I worked on a file that has 52,000 rows. The last time I
was in I sorted and filtered. Now when I go in I can not
turn off auto filter or change the sort - the options are
disabled.

I can not even change the filter that is already set? On
the title bar the title is followed by [Group]. To me it
looks like something was set for this file, but I do not
know what?

Any help would be appreciated!

Rob,

You have two or more sheets grouped together; their tabs should
appear in white instead of gray. Click on one of the ungrouped
tabs, or if they are all grouped, click on any tab, to ungroup
the sheets.
