Why are some e-mails shaded so they can't be read?

I am using Outlook 2003. Some e-mails come (from known safe senders)and they
appear in a light unreadable font. It can only be read by right clicking and
highlighting it.

Ask the senders what they are using for fonts.

Oh and another thought, are these messages expired messages?
