Why am I receiving double email from one account?

I get 2 of the same email from one account. I checked my settings in the
web-based user interface for the email and I do not have forwarding set up.

I have Windows XP. Does that mean I have Outlook XP (if there is such a
thing) or is it Outlook 2002?

Look in Help -> About Microsoft Outlook... to find out what your version is.
Your Outlook version will be independent of your Windows version.
