who's corrupting my msconfig and stressing my svchost?

Hello everybody,

on XPhome, one of the svchost.exe is much too busy
and msconfig will just open some seconds before it shuts down
except from that, we've got difficulties opening other apps like NAV, word
etc.

Anyone knows where to start?
