White box

I have a mysterious white box inside a text box (I think) I can't get hold of
it to delete it, it appears to be neither in header or footer or the main
document, but appears in front of the image I am pasting.
 
Hi Purplejopeg,

Goto Tools|Options|View and make sure the 'picture placeholders' option is unchecked.
