as title, I have a research project which I need to know which JPEG
format (version) that PowerPoint 2003 is using when you open up a PPT
file and "save as" JPEG File Interchange Format. According to the
wikipedia.org, there are many version of JPEG (such as JPEG 2000), I
don't think PowerPoint 2003 is converting the PPT file into JPEG 2000
format, but exactly which version (or format) of JPEG it is converting
too? Many thanks!

PowerPoint 2000 supports version 6.0 of the JPEG File Interchange Format
(JFIF). If you have PowerPoint 2003 then try a search in the Help screens
"jpeg" or "about graphics in powerpoint".

Hope this helps.

Powerpoint does not support JPEG2000 (.jp2) files.

Either importing or exporting.
