Don't confuse RAM and hard disk space.

Try Disk Cleanup. Search for it in Help and Support.

First of all, you're mixing up "RAM" with hard drive space. They are two
very different things.

It's hard drive space you're running out of, not RAM.

You say you removed all your old pictures, but the drive is still full. Did
you empty the Recycle bin afterwards? If not, you didn't save any space.

You can probably get some space back by removing pictures and emptying the
recycle bin, and maybe doing some other things, but the bigger issue is that
if you are so close to full that you need to do these things, you need a
bigger hard drive. Sooner or later (and very probably much sooner than
later) you will need to buy a bigger drive.

Also, delete any multimedia files that you do not use, because they take up disk space
(i.e. Windows Tour, Sample music, Sample videos etc.) Also, uninstall programs which you
do not use. Also, If you have an Office Suite like MS Office, run the setup, opt to add
or remove components, and uninstall the programs/components which you do not use. Also,
burn data files which you do not use often to CD or DVD, then delete the originals from
your hard drive. Also, go to your:

C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\Local Settings\Temp

folder (by default that folder is hidden, so in My Computer or Windows Explorer click
Tools menu/Folder Options/View tab/and opt for: Show Hidden Files or Folders. Delete all
the temp files and folders in the above path (if Windows XP is not installed on drive C,
use the letter of the drive where it is installed) with the exception of the Temporary
Internet folder. Also, in the Outlook Express main window click the File
menu/Folder/Compact All Folders (when you delete files in OE the space that they took up
in the *.dbx folders is not released until the folders are compacted, ergo a folder with 2
messages in it could potentially be 50 MB if you have never compacted it. Also, if you
are saving email with attachments, save the attachments elsewhere, and delete the email.
The above is a stall tactic, because you will eventually need to get a larger drive. Hard
drives are relatively inexpensive, and many come with utilities for copying the hard drive
you are replacing.
