hi, i bought my comp about 6 months ago(and didn't
recieve an installation disk) i discovered recently that
i had some particurly nasty malware....anyway to cut a
long story short i bought myself a new installation disk
(xp pro). i discovered lastnight that i do not have ms
word, office, excel, or photo editor. i have searched the
disk and my hard disk and it is not present anywhere.
basically could anyone tell me how and where i could get
these (essential, to me anyway) components for free?

thank you for taking time to read this. hope someone can
help(email me with advice if you could).

Windows XP is an "operating system" and does not include
Microsoft Office applications nor Photo Editor. You'll have
to find the original installation CDs and Product Keys in order
to reinstall them. There are no free downloads of those programs.

i bought a new disk with product key and reformatted my
hard disk; the former version of xp pro on this comp was
riddled with a virus which had duplicated into nearly
every file on this machine.

i have performed the full install. i don't understand how
it wasn't installed with the rest of the components. i
have no access to the original disk from when i bought
this machine as i bought it second hand. but i do know
that this machine (compaq armada m700) was originally
released with 98 on it.

should it not have been included on the installation disk
that i just bought last week? i have registered and
activated windows just yesterday, but i can't recieve non
paid for tech support from microsoft because the
retailers i bought it from has aparently an obligation to
give me that support.

thanks

in short, are you saying i have to install these
components from seperate installation disks?

sorry for my somewhat patchy computer knowledge.

kat

Yes, if you do not have the original installations disks, you'll have
to purchase new ones.

What's in the Office Editions?

When you decide to convert your Office 2003 Trial version product to a "Full Retail
Perpetual License Product", you must first purchase a perpetual license product key
from Microsoft or purchase a full retail version of the product from either Microsoft
or from any authorized retail store.
