Hi

All these newsgroups seem to come under expert zone. Are there any
newsgroups for normal win xp users to help each other out?

Anyone normal is of no help and wouldn't stay around without becoming
abnormal.

I'll try it but all these groups seem to come under expert zone. I'm not a
new user but maybe in this environment it all the same as I don't know all
this technical stuff about registry edits and fiddling about with system
files too much.

I read this as the "Windows XP General" forum.

Being helpful is one thing, being a dick is another.

not sure if you're calling me a dick but on the drop down list i have all the
groups eg 'windows xp general' are headed by 'expert zone newsgroups'
anyway, i'll think i'll asking qs in the new user group
--
only 2?
This is better:-

Using this newsgroup is making me worse with computers because the more I
use it, the less I understand

oh right but it not experts as in employees of microsoft, etc just normal
people helping each other out? I think the best forum then for me is new user
as most of the replies to questions in the other forum are too technical for
me!

You know, you were so rude and unpleasant I plonked you. (And you can
make the effort to find out what that means by using Google - or not. I
really don't care.)

But then I thought - this poor guy just can't deal with Usenet. You're
right - you definitely should *not* be posting on Usenet because 1) you
don't understand it; and 2) you don't *want* to understand it. That's
fine. Here is a link to an excellent web forum where you will find
caring people to help you with your computer problems:

oh right but it not experts as in employees of microsoft,

Employees of Microsoft don't have the time to help normal people like
you. You have to put up with "kurttrail" aka Kurt Kirsch
Self-anointed Moderator. He has now taken the mantle of resident
attorney, advising people on EULAs and all that.

MS has enough money to pay people to do it. It is just too greedy to
provide such a service, hence these peer support groups.

LOL! No he doesn't. All he would need to do is take responsibility for
what he reads. If the OP, or anyone, doesn't want to read what I post
here, then using a killfile is the worst way to do so.

The best way not to "put up with" my posts, is to see my posts and
replies to my posts in the list form, then exercising enough
self-control not to open up & read any of my posts or any reply to them.

ROFL! You do have a reading comprehension problem. And if I were you,
I post as ANONYMOUS too!

Thank you. I had a quick look at the site and it seems easy to use like the
other forum I looked at. I was not rude and unpleasant. I think I'll keep
using the forums because they can be useful and I'll get more familiar with
it. I not sure what you mean but I'm guessing it's slang for something rude.

WOW, he sure pissed you off somehow.

I thought you had the patience of a saint.

Looks like I need to go looking around the and see what else he has posted.

Shame on you.

For what, plagarizing Monty Python? I can accept that.
I hope your geneline ends and your influences are
rejected.

You can hope all you want, but my influences is too vast to be rejected!

You really need to take the stick out of your ass, boy. Life is way
too short to take it so seriously.

Learn to enjoy yourself. Oops. Sorry. I forgot that you have that
obvious learning disability!

Nevermind! :-p

??

There are generally no MS employees here.

There are MVPs, who have been granted special recognition by MS because they
are really **really**nice people.
There are those (like myself) who hold many certifications on different
products made by Microsoft. Some us aren't so nice, but we have a measured
and proven skill set.
There are a lot of computer professionals with years of experience.
Why do you refuse to listen to them? Even dipwads like Kurt? Didn't he tell
you that you would be better served using a newsreader?
Forget that he is an opinionated jerk for a second and ask yourself why he
is calling you a chuckle head for not using a newsreader.

Maybe you should find out what a newsreader is, don't you think?

If you want to go find a newsgroup that is a bunch of newbs feeling their
way through the dark be my guest. Post back in a few months and let us all
know how many times you have had to reinstall your OS.

In fact maybe you would even be better served by going down to the local
book store and finding a decent XP book.

You have somehow managed PO a lot of really smart, helpful, and mostly nice
people.

Why is that?

What's a dipwad? Some sort of homemade candle?

And I prefer to be called an a**hole as oppose to a jerk! :)
